I already told you on Twitter, but I LOVE your accent and glasses! And I love rambling videos! That Roald Dahl book looks so neat-I haven't read him since childhood.
I'm halfway through my Kiwi book-it's really neat so far. :) Margaret Mahy sounds awesome! And looking up Under the Mountain...
That cover of The Princess Bride is soooo pretty! Garquez is one of my fave authors too, although I haven't read that one yet, mainly because of the plot description.
I say bedside table half the time too-it must be because I lived in England. Wilkie Collins!!! One of my fave authors!!! :D I'm reading a shorter book of his for the Classics Circuit-The Lady and the Law.
I'd say very successful vlog! I laughed, I got to know a little about you, and I have lots of books to look up now. :D
Enjoyed your vlog. Love listening to your voice as it reminds me of a dear Aussie friend. I read and briefly reviewed Memories... by Marquez, here if it interests you:
I loved Once Were Warriors and convinced my library to purchase the follow-up book, What Becomes of the Broken Hearted. Should be good. I really enjoy Aussie lit and am on the lookout for good adult Kiwi lit now too. I've read The Bone People and The Sound of Butterflies but not much else. Happy reading.
Eva: You're reading Towards Another Summer, right? Or something else? If it's that - so. good. Vlogging was more fun than I thought, even though it took all day, and I had to make four versions! LOL! Might do another one during the readathon. MIGHT! Elena: Thank you :D Sandra: I have a post - here - which gives some Kiwi recs, and authors to follow up: http://justaddbooks.blogspot.com/2009/07/care-package.html - I hope that helps. Nymeth: If I can do it, YOU can do it. I know everyone wants to hear you. I do, too. I just pretended I was talking to all of you at once, and it was about books, so that made it really easy. :D And thank you. Of course, I don't think I HAVE an accent ... :P
I absolutely LOVED it Maree!!!! Loved it!! I want a daily vlog now ;) And I'm in love with your accent :) It's fantastic! You seriously look so comfortable in front of the camera. You were a joy to watch!
I really really need to read some Roald Dahl. Like REALLY need to read him! That book looks fantastic. I also need to read some more Kiwi books! One of my favorites is The Bone People by Keri Hulme. Have you ever read that one? It's such a fantastic book!! One of my all time favorite books actually. And I'm with you completely on Marquez. Such a wonderful author. Haven't read that one yet though!
Mary: Thanks :D Bybee: Lol - I had to concentrate NOT to swear. At work I swear like a sailor. Chris: Too funny! It was a lot of fun to do, and I might do one during the readathon. We'll see. I haven't read The Bone People, actually, but it's on my list. Oh! You HAVE to read Roald Dahl's short stories. They're amazing.
Eva's right, your accent is great! Now I want to put The Princess Bride and Marquez on my lists but it's too long already. I'm definitely adding them to my TBR list!

Sigh, everyone's braver than me. You sound so friendly and relaxed! I wish I could do that. And I love your accent :)

Great vlog, Maree! Good luck with the readathon : )
I used to work with Kiwis and it's so strange to hear someone with your accent without also hearing swears every other word!
I hope you'll make your vlog a regular feature. It was fun and entertaining and of course I love seeing all your books.
Since I'm in South Korea, I'll be starting on Saturday at 9 pm, my time which I think is a couple of hrs different than NZ.
