Italong check-in post

So this has been happening: http://www.fizzythoughts.com/2012/08/just-do-it-the-it-along-starts-now.html and I decided to jump in because IT is one of the few Stephen King novels I haven't read.

I do love a good Stephen King. :-)

Of course, now, I'm scared of clowns.

Stupid Stephen King.

Anyway, the upshot of it (heh) is that I'm only reading IT at the weekends because that's the only time I can read during the day. During the week my reading time is after dark and that's really just a no-go.

BECAUSE CLOWNS.

So I'm probably a bit behind everyone else but I'm still picking away at it and scaring myself silly. You know, as you do. I love a good scare.

I just started Part 3: Grownups, where the gang (except Stan) reunites in Derry.

And that is where I will stay until next Saturday and I can read in daylight.

*shudder*

Maree! I still have an available CLOWN NOSE if you'd like to wear one. It's frightfully fun. :)

E-mail me at c (dot) beumer (at) gmail (dot) com and I can get it out this week. :)

This is the only book I've ever read that helps me understand how people can be afraid of clowns.

I never really was scared of clowns, but I do understand why people are... They are not really as fun as they should be!

I instituted a no IT after 6 pm rule if I'm home alone. For some reason, if Hamburger is home while I'm reading IT's not so scary.

And I can assure you that it is that much creepier listening to the audio book! I run at night and listen to the book when I'm running and it is SCARY! :)

My mom was telling me about a serial killer when she was a kid (60s) who dressed as a clown and it made me wonder if that's what sparked the novel? Haven't done any research into it but as I was reading I wondered if people were terrified by clowns BEFORE IT. It is creepy isn't it?!

And for Nat's comment--I used to run outside but can't anymore! I'm too terrified that someone's (aka Pennywise) is going to sneak up behind me and... ahhhhh!!!

Christina: Lol thanks! I have a feeling I'd lose it to the cats or Patrick in about five seconds though :-)

Care: Exactly. *shudder*

avantaknits: Same They never bothered me before.

Kailana: I'm coming to understand that clowns are actually evil ...

softdrink: Yup. After 6pm is my no-King zone

Natalie: *shudder* I can't imagine how creepy the audio must be

Trish: John Wayne Gacy? Or did he just paint clowns? It's very creepy.

Stacy: Heee same! I'm well behind but it's a blast!
